Trying to cut the sidewalk next to our garage in order to expose the dirt underneath and then plant some shrubs/plants. The area to cut out is approx. 13 feet long by 3 feet wide. I'm trying to avoid renting a wetsaw as the rental fees are expensive and I don't like the time constraints when renting tools. Can I use a circular saw with a 7" diamond masonry blade (eg. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-...I0Q4Ur0xyLWSVwUx0Mo36cUkEVLRzbEzjiXs0#overlay ) and a sledge hammer (eg. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-1...h-34-in-Fiberglass-Handle-HD-SF10LB/206768945 ) for this task? Most sidewalk is 4" thick and I know the saw/blade won't cut deep enough, but thinking there would be enough of a "score line" that the remaining uncut depth can be easily broken off with a sledge hammer, and the visible part of the cut up above would still look straight/clean without chipping/breaking of the edges along the cut lines. Here is the circular saw I have: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-1...ickid=zkI0Q4Ur0xyLWSVwUx0Mo36cUkEVLRUKEzjiXs0 Hard to tell what thickness the sidewalk concrete is but it's likely the standard 4" thick, and it was done in 2012.Thoughts, tips, techniques? Pic with outlined cutout area is below.
