Form ties are designed to hold the concrete forms together prior to and during the pouring.
They are also designed to be broken off at the onset of form removal.
They beak to the interior surface of the wall where it can then be patch with a cementious product to achieve a waterresistant surface and prevent moisture intrusion via the form tie.
They are easily removed by hitting with a hammer to one side and then to the next.
Not to be confused with the type form tie here that was used in the late 60&#;s where they had to be hit down and upward.
Those were called rabi ties and used 3/4" forms with steel walers.

Bolts
Wedge Bolts
Wedge bolts connect panels and ties together, eliminating the need for special tools or equipment in the set up process. Two identical wedge bolts work as a single lock-bolt set, connecting and clamping together. However, additional bolts may be needed for walker attachments, scaffold brackets, etc.
Long Bolts
imilar to a wedge bolt, these long bolts connect the 1, 1 ½, and 2-inch steel fillers, and are punched with two ¼ inch holes to make room for 16, or 20, D nails.

Short Bolts are used to attach the pilaster form to a steel ply form. They eliminate the need for short stop wedge bolts and, upon proper installation, make stripping much easier.
X Flat Ties
X Flat Ties are used with Wedge Bolts to secure and space modular forms. X Flat ties are available in 6&#; up to 84&#; in 1/2&#; increments. Standard breakback is 1/4&#;.
One Piece Waler Clamps
One Piece Waler Clamps attach through the wedge bolt slot of modular type forms to provide wedge action aligning with single or double lumber.
Z Tie Holders & Waler Ties
Z Tie Holders are used in conjunction with Waler Ties to secure double 2x lumber wales to modular type forms.&#; The Waler Tie is available in two sizes to accommodate 2 x 4 and 2 x 6 lumber.
